The Federal Ministry of Education has unveiled a plan to convert primary schools in Islamabad to solar energy.

As per a ministry spokesperson, solar power systems will be installed in all primary schools in the capital within the next two months.

The spokesperson clarified that the school solar power project is anticipated to be completed by year’s end. The initiative aims to encourage sustainable and economical energy solutions.

The project aims to reduce electricity expenses while providing a clean, sustainable energy source for schools. Solar panels will be placed on selected school roofs to achieve these objectives.

The spokesperson also noted that savings from the solar initiative will be reinvested to improve educational facilities in the federal capital. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently announced no new tariffs on solar panels to encourage access to renewable energy.

During the federal cabinet meeting, he affirmed that the government is dedicated to offering affordable solar energy from renewable sources to all Pakistani citizens.
