Effective from May 18 to May 31, 2024, the revised schedule aims to mitigate the effects of extreme heat.
The updated school hours in Punjab are:
- Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 07:00 am to 11:30 am.
- Friday: 07:00 am to 10:30 am.
Additionally, the education department has issued a precautionary advisory for schools, emphasizing the need for functional fans and availability of water coolers. The notification also prohibits students from sitting in the open or on lawns during summer.
Furthermore, the Punjab School Education Department has announced summer vacations for all public and private schools from June 1 to August 14, 2024.
