Sui Companies

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has disclosed its projected revenue requirements and proposed new gas prices for both Sui companies in the fiscal year 2024-25.

According to official documents obtained by ProPakistani, OGRA suggests an average gas price of Rs. 1,635.90 per MMBTU for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), indicating a 10 percent decrease, equivalent to Rs. 179.17 per MMBTU.

For Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), OGRA recommends an average price of Rs. 1,401.25 per MMBTU, reflecting a 4 percent reduction, or Rs. 59.23 per MMBTU, from current rates.

Additionally, OGRA has evaluated the financial impacts of past years’ rupee shortfalls. While SNGPL claims a financial impact of Rs. 862,612 million, OGRA has assessed it to be Rs. 580,585 million.

Sources have indicated that policy recommendations have been forwarded to the federal government, with OGRA urging consultations on category-wise selling prices.

Until the federal government provides any revisions, the existing selling prices of natural gas will remain unchanged. OGRA will issue notifications of any revisions based on the government’s decision, as per sources.
