The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established a Joint Working Group (JWG) comprising tax officials and telecom operators to streamline the process of blocking SIMs of non-filers in compliance with the law.
As per the notification issued by the FBR, following a meeting between the finance minister and representatives of telecom operators in Pakistan on May 12, 2024, it was decided to form a Joint Working Group (JWG). This group is tasked with enforcing Income Tax General Order (ITGO) No. 1 of 2024 and facilitating the process of blocking SIMs of non-filers as per legal requirements.
The JWG will provide a platform for collaboration and communication between the relevant parties to address any challenges and ensure the effective implementation of ITGO No. 1 of 2024, thereby ensuring the SIMs of non-filers listed in the order are blocked smoothly.
