The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced a new schedule for the matric exams that were postponed due to a heatwave alert.
According to Controller Examination Khalid Ehsan, the Urdu paper for 9th standard will now take place on May 28, followed by the Sindhi paper for 10th standard on May 29.
Additionally, the Islamic Studies paper for 9th standard has been rescheduled for May 30, while the Pakistan Studies paper for 10th standard will be held on May 31.
The BSEK postponed the ninth and matric exams originally scheduled from May 21-27 due to anticipated high temperatures. This decision was made following heatwave alerts issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
“It is further informed that the said examination will now be continued with effect from 28th May 2024 as per schedule. The revised schedule of postponed papers will be issued later on,” BSEK previously announced.
Earlier, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) also postponed intermediate exams by five days, with the exams now set to begin on June 1.
