Kate Hudson Reveals Year-long Dating Break: Here’s Why

Kate Hudson recently disclosed that she took a complete year off from dating following advice from her “great” therapist.

During the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the 45-year-old American actress and singer opened up about her decision to go on a dating hiatus.

When asked about it by host Alex Cooper, Hudson candidly shared, “I took a full year off. I was like, ‘What?’ I couldn’t flirt for a year, none of it.”

Describing the experience as “great,” Hudson revealed that this hiatus occurred during her thirties.

“I was at that point where I didn’t want to keep repeating any patterns anymore. I have a great therapist who said, ‘I can help you, but you have to do it,'” explained the Almost Famous star.

Despite her enjoyment of flirting, which provided a slight distraction, Hudson remained committed to the process. “Basically, I was like, OK. Well, I guess I can’t even text guys,” she said, noting that she refrained from giving her number to men.

After six months of therapy, Hudson began to gain clarity and stopped worrying about her phone.

She mentioned that even when men started texting her again, she had no desire to flirt. She credited this period of being single for helping her find her current fiancé, Danny Fujikawa.
