Peshawar Airport Shut Down After Plane Catches Fire on Runway

Peshawar-Airport

Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport has been shut down temporarily for all flights.

This decision was made after a Saudi Airlines aircraft caught fire on the runway during landing, leading to a 24-hour halt.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) indicated that the runway will stay closed until 11 am on Friday. As a result, all flights scheduled to land at Peshawar Airport will be redirected to other airports.

Previously, a fire erupted in the landing gear of the Saudi Airlines plane. All 276 passengers and 21 crew members were safely evacuated using the emergency inflatable slides. The flight was traveling from Peshawar to Riyadh when the incident occurred.
