Summer Holidays for Schools

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced early summer holidays for all public and private schools due to the ongoing heatwave. The holidays will begin on May 25 and will continue until May 31.

The decision has received overwhelming support from parents, with 96% backing the government’s move to protect children from the severe heat. In a video message, Minister Hayat emphasized the importance of prioritizing student health and safety. He noted that 96% of parents advocated for starting the summer vacation this week, reflecting the community’s concern over the extreme temperatures.

“The wellbeing of our students is our top priority. Given the extreme temperatures, it is crucial to take preventive measures to ensure their safety,” Minister Hayat stated.

Schools that are conducting exams have been granted conditional permission to remain open solely for exams, provided they implement necessary precautions to ensure student safety.
