NHA Board Approves Road Construction Projects Worth Rs. 53 Billion

The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board has recommended revised PC-I proposals for two significant road construction projects totaling Rs. 53 billion. These recommendations are set for approval by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

The first project involves the dualization of the existing road from Faisalabad Bypass to Motorway (M-3) via Satiana, with an estimated cost of Rs. 7.102 billion.

The second project focuses on the construction of the Lahore bypass from the Kalashah Kaku exit to KLM, extending to Multan road near the radio station, covering approximately 40 kilometers. This project, which includes a 18.5-kilometer stretch from KLM (M-3) to Multan road near the radio station, is estimated at Rs. 45.9 billion.

According to official documents, the NHA Executive Board also suggested that the funding for this project be shared equally between the Federal Government and the Government of Punjab.
